« well worth the money »
I purchased this tool to reframe a cottage 6 years ago. Up until then I just borrowed a friend's or relative's tool. But with the long term project ahead of me I felt it was time for my own. I really didn't expect to be using it 6 years later but here I am & I love this gun. There are smaller & lighter quality guns out there, but nowhere around $200. I have shot probably 15 boxes of nails with gun - from sinkers to ringed deck nails - its worked flawlessly. The depth adjustment is easy & accurate. The balance is very good as well as the general work-around size. I did have a jamming problem with ONE box of cheap nails, but that was random and only with that one box. Other than that, I don't think I've had more than 20 mis-fires in all this time.
Obviously, I am not a pro - just a DIYSer/handyman, but I do appreciate quality in tools. I own about a dozen stapler/finish nailers (Hitachi, Senco, Bostich, PC) --- but only one framer - this one. If I framed for a living I might be singing a different tune, but for under $200, you won't go with this one.

    « Porter-Cable FR350A Nail Gun & Amazon Rock! »
My new Porter-Cable FR350A framing air nailer works great. The reviews from users were all superb, and the nailer lives up to all the reviews. Amazon made buying it very easy and for a good price. It was the first time I ever bought a tool this way, but I'll do it the same way again next time. My only regret is that I deleted the follow-up e-mail that Amazon sent a few days later, offering what turned out to be very good prices on nails for the tool. Amazon, would you send me that one again? I'd like to have a few different sizes and types of framing nails for the tool--galvanized, ring-shank, etc. I couldn't be happier with the tool or the buying-shipping process.

« Porter Cable Framing Nailer »
Overall, this nailer is fantastic. No jams, easy to adjust depth, easy to load cartridge. It's meatier than most others in its class but this one does the job well. It's nice to have the carrying case too.

    « Better than expected »
Decided to rehab/remodel my house entirely and frame in some walls where none existed. i thought of all of the hammering and my arthritis and decided to buy a framing nailer. Looked at other reviews here on Amazon and decided on the Porter Cable. It was everything that every one said it was; dependable, powerful and up to the task. I've finished framing 6 walls and then decided to drop my ceiling. Couldn't have done it without this framing nailer.

« Good Gun but jams are hard to fix »
Porter cable makes great tools (Lefty saw, routers, sanders ect) and this is no exception. I have a framing company and own 6 hitachi NR83's and am pretty much dedicated to them. However I ended up with one of these PC's and much to my suprise i was impressed.
The gun can take a beating and still keep nailing which is very important, uses plastic collated nails which work with my other guns and are easily found anywhere, depth adjustments can be made on the tool saving trips to the compressor, well balanced, and easy to use.
Downsides; clearing jams. I have found that most backloading guns are a real pain in @$$, and not firing the last 3 nails. I have never liked or understood the reason for this feature on any nail gun but it is what it is.
As you can see only 2 real issues that are bad and everything else is just great. I highly recomend this gun to homeowners, DIY guys, and framers looking to buy their own gun and cant afford the Hitachi NR83. Porter Cable makes good tools for evryone from rookies to the pros and you will be satisfied with your purchase for many years to come.
