Good tool, but it requires cleanup and adjustment.

The good news is that this is a very sturdy low-cost X-Y cross-slide vice for your drill press. The bad news is that it arrives "dirty" and in serious need of adjustment.
This tool is about 1/2 to 1/3 the cost of a "professional" equivalent. And once you clean it up and properly adjust it, it is reasonably smooth and quite sturdy.
Mine arrived in good shipping condition, but covered in oil and with quite a lot of the metal filings visible from it's machining. It was set up incredibly sloppy - something like a quarter to 1/8-inch play in all directions! Fortunately, disassembly is easy and a liberal blast of WD-40 on all the parts followed by a wipe-down with a rag or paper towel takes care of the filings and mess. Then oil the slides and turn-screws and reassemble the machine. Setting the adjustments is easy - just set for the best combination of minimum play and reasonable ease of operation. That's not tough - It made me wonder if a chimp had originally adjusted mine.
If you allow an hour or so and for the clean up and adjustment you wind up with a pretty good vice for the money.
