great product, great price
»
I purchased this heater for my sunroom. I love it. After reading some of the reviews I was expecting to be a little disappointed. However, the fire does look real ( unless you are right on it, staring). It provides an excellent source of heat. There are two temperatures and I keep it on low. the heater has reduced my eletric bill and I would recommend it to anyone. excellent for the price. Mel atl, ga

Doesn't last
»
We bought two of these. We LOVED them at first. They heated the house very well. And I thought the fake fire was rather pretty to look at. Just shy of 2 months they both stopped working. They consistently overheated. I like that it has an auto shut off feature, but it kinda was (is) the middle of winter and our main heat source. Hopefully we just got (2?!) a defective unit and this isn't the norm. I really did like the heater while it lasted.

This product meets all expectations!!

We heat our house with propane fireplace inserts, one each upstairs and downstairs. However, we wanted additional heaters for our back bedrooms during those near-zero or sub-zero winter days and nights, heaters that would be economical and add visual warmth to those rooms. The Dimplex CS1205 is perfect. What is really interesting is to see the household pets lying in front of these heaters just like they do in front of the fireplaces. And, the fire simulation is remarkable --- could not ask for better. We also purchased the WIN100 thermostats to use with these heaters thanks to the review written by another Dimplex owner. These thermostats are a good match, and they are affordable when purchased through Amazon.

Warming up the living room
»
This is a nice addition to our rather drafty old living room. It adds an adequate amount of extra heat to make the room comfortable on a cold day. Though you can tell the fire effect is not a real fire it is still hypnotic and a nice effect.

Well worth the money spent
»
I bought this on sale for $116 with free shipping from Amazon, now it's $130. I replaced the 60 watt bulb with a night light LED replacement, it's current "barely there" flame reminds me of my coal fireplace in England. I also have a 4 watt and a 7 watt night light replacement so I can vary the "flame effect" to my mood. As for heating, it has no comparison. I have a 500 sq ft area to heat- it was 20 degrees and windy outside and 74 degrees inside. Truly worth the money. A definate good buy. And it's lightweight so I can move it from room to room with virtually no effort. My cats absolutely love lying on their rug in the warm air flow.
