    « its great »
I really like the AAA daylite, its ridiculously bright, and the bottom on/off button is a nice change of pace to the standard on/off head twist of comparably sized maglites which are no where near as bright. It feels heavy and durable in my hand, though I suspect slightly less durable then a maglite. However, I have no idea about durability of an LED vs the bulb technology in a maglite so it very may well be equally or more durable. If you want BRIGHT and durable its worth the extra ten bucks.

« Good light, there are better »
In my profession as an airline pilot, we are required to carry a flashlight in the flight bag. I have used several brands in the past 25 years and purchased this for that purchase. After playing with it for a few weeks, I'm sad to report it has been re-located from the flight bag to the bedroom nightstand (next to the Glock). It's not one major problem that caused it's demotion, it's just that the flashlight I carry now, the Fenix P3D, which has been discontinued and replaced with a different model, is a far superior product for the money comparisons. Here is the website explanation of the Fenix P3D.

"The Fenix P3D is a high-tech, rugged tool that's perfect for any lighting application. It features six levels of output, which not only allows the user to select the best compromise between brightness and runtime for any given task but also has ability to aid in an emergency. What's more, the Fenix P3D throws an awesome 200 lumens beam, an incredible amount of light for a light of any size. If you're looking for a flashlight with solid reliability, digitally regulated brightness, and compact size, this Fenix is for you"

In addition to the website eplanation, the Fenix has an emergency stobe light function which is visible for miles.

The Duracell light, while a good light, just can't compete. And for the money difference, (the Fenix was $67), it is far superior and definitely more than twice the flashlight. The only advantage of the Duracell is that it runs on common AAA while the Fenix uses the more expensive and harder ro find 123's.
But for a good around the house flashlight, the Duracell is fine. I just think you can get a good flashlight at Home Depot for a better price.

    « Really Bright & Compact »
Really bright light. However it could do with a few upgrades. It used 3 AAA batteries held in a plastic caddy. Wouldn't 2 'C' cell batteries provide more power and last longer (not sure if there's an issue with the voltage from 2 'C' cells verses 3 'AAA' cells). Duracell also make the Ultra 123 version which is twice as bright. Though Amazon didn't stock it when I bought this.

    « Duracell Daylite »
Bought all three models. It is a compact and very bright led flashlight. Comparing all three, the cr123 model isn't worth the price. It is no brighter nor does it reach any more distance than the 3AAA model. They all fit in your pocket. I work in public safety and it will serve my needs just fine.

    « It's a LED flashlight »
In testing I've found this to be extremely bright, with a clean throw. Held at waist level and pointed at the ground obliquely, it illuminates an 8' by 20' area quite well, much brighter than my other LED flashlight.

Quibbles: The beam width selector doesn't seem to really do anything useful, and the on/off switch is too recessed into the base to operated it cop-style with one's thumb.

While not half as bright as a Nite Rider HID system, this would make a fine light for attaching to a bike, at 1/10th the cost.

Just got it so I'll leave it to following reviewers to comment on run-time.
